Colab Notifier respects your privacy. This extension is designed to be simple, transparent, and privacy-friendly.

Colab Notifier does not collect any personal or sensitive user data.

Colab Notifier does not collect, store, sell, or share personal data.

The extension only accesses the following information locally within your browser:

Google Colab page state, strictly to detect:
- Cell execution failures
- Runtime disconnects
Extension configuration settings, such as:
- Notification preferences
- Telegram configuration (if enabled by the user)

All processing happens locally on your device.

If you choose to enable Telegram notifications:

The Telegram bot token and chat ID you provide are stored locally using Chrome’s storage APIs (chrome.storage.sync or chrome.storage.local)
These credentials are used only to send notifications you explicitly enable
No data is sent to any server owned or controlled by the developer

Telegram messages are sent directly from your browser to the Telegram API.

Colab Notifier does not:

Track users
Collect browsing history
Read notebook code or cell contents beyond what is already visible in the Colab interface for error detection
Store execution outputs
Log keystrokes
Use analytics, cookies, or third-party trackers
Transmit notebook content to external servers

Colab Notifier requests permissions only to provide its core functionality:

storage
Used to save user preferences and configuration locally
notifications
Used to notify users when a notebook execution fails or the runtime disconnects
host permissions: colab.research.google.com
Used to detect execution and runtime state changes within Google Colab
host permissions: api.telegram.org
Used only when Telegram notifications are enabled, to send messages to the Telegram API

No permission is used for advertising, tracking, profiling, or analytics.

Colab Notifier does not download, inject, or execute remote code.

All extension logic is bundled within the extension package and runs locally in the browser.

Colab Notifier has a single purpose:

To notify users when a Google Colab notebook execution fails or when the runtime disconnects.

Colab Notifier does not share data with third parties, advertisers, analytics providers, or data brokers.

If this privacy policy changes, the updated version will be published at the same URL.
